Stephen newland, cfo

Stephen was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2010 where he now lives with his wife, Rachael, and his two dogs. Stephen began attending Buckhead Church in 2013 and first took a trip to Cambodia in the fall of 2013. Not only did Cambodia have an impact on Stephen personally, but little did he know that his future wife was also on the team that went to Cambodia that year!

Stephen began helping with the Fallen Sparrow Foundation in 2016 and has loved the experience! His background is in both corporate and personal finance so he’s naturally the “numbers” guy of the group. Stephen has a heart for helping these kids have not only a great childhood, but also for helping them prepare for life after they leave New Life Orphanage and are on their own.

In his spare time, he loves to travel with his wife and can spend countless hours trapped watching random funny video after funny video on YouTube.

Beth Jacquin, Communications director

Hello! My name is Beth Jacquin and I serve as the Director of Communications with the Fallen Sparrow Foundation. My family and I live in Houston, TX.  We’re relatively new Texans after living in Roswell, Georgia almost 15 years which is where my path intersected with Cambodia.

In 2013 I visited Cambodia for my first mission trip EVER.  Go big or go home, I suppose!  That trip changed me and reminded me of things I still cling to years later:  love doesn’t need a translator, the gospel is universal and we’re all more alike than different.

I was changed and the children we served had captured my heart.  This picture is from that trip and the young girl on my shoulder would soon become a child my family and I would sponsor. She and I immediately connected and seeing her on my return trips since then is truly one of the highlights of my year.

I’m humbled to be a part of Fallen Sparrow and to play a small part in what God’s doing in Cambodia. It’s an honor to connect with fellow sponsors and to continuously work to make Cambodia feel a little bit closer.

We are so thankful for your interest in what’s going on in Cambodia and welcome you to get know us and the beautiful children we serve.
